Emilia Tapprest (b. 1992) is a Finnish-French filmmaker and design researcher based in Amsterdam. Her work approaches digital infrastructures as an “atmospheric” condition; ambient, porous, and co-extensive with sensing. Many of her projects take the form of diegetic systems in which emerging technologies are embedded, politically shaped, and sometimes misused. She is former fellow of Enter the Hyper-Scientific AiR (EPFL, 2024–25), the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Amsterdam (2023–24), Rupert AiR (2023), Stimuleringsfonds’ Talent Development program (2021–22), and the Jan van Eyck Academie (2021). She has presented work at international platforms such as the VISIO – European Programme on Artists' Moving Images, Bologna Art City, Vdrome, MU Hybrid Art House and the National Space Centre Ireland. She is a core tutor at the Geo-Design MA at Design Academy Eindhoven.
